Avalanche rescue backpacks are not common in Australia for obvious reasons. However, in some parts of the world, avalanches are common due to the height of mountains and heavy snow events. For this reason, avalanche rescue packs are a necessity.

These items are permitted provided the triggering mechanism complies with the above description.

	-	Permitted in or as carry-on-baggage	YES
	-	Permitted in or as checked baggage	YES
	-	The approval of the operator(s) is required	YES
	-	The pilot-in-command must be informed of the location	NO
