Camping stoves and fuel containers that have contained a flammable liquid:

These items may be permitted as long as the fuel tanks are totally drained and action taken to nullify the danger.

Please note the following from table above:

Permitted in or as carry-on-baggage

The approval of the operator(s) is required

The pilot-in-command must be informed of the location

The IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations specify two methods, one of which, must be used:

Method One

  -

Drain for a minimum of 1 hour

  -

Air container for a minimum of 6 hours

  -

Screw lid on tightly

  -

Wrap in an absorbent material

  -

Wrap polyethylene (thin plastic) bag or equivalent over the absorbent material

  -

Bind with elastic bands or twine

Method Two

  -

Drain flammable liquid

  -

Add cooking oil to the empty fuel container

  -

Drain excess oil

  -

Screw lid on tightly

  -

Wrap in an absorbent material

  -

Wrap polyethylene (thin plastic) bag or equivalent over the absorbent material

  -

Bind with elastic bands or twine
