Disabling Devices

From the table above you can determine that any disabling device such as mace or pepper spray is totally forbidden as carry-on baggage or checked in baggage.

There are some circumstances under which disabling devices may be carried under strict conditions. Dispensation to do so must be granted by the flight operator and the relevant Competent Authority (in Australia, the Competent Authority is CASA).

Please note the following from the table above:

	-	Permitted in or as carry-on-baggage	FORBIDDEN
	-	Permitted in or as checked baggage	FORBIDDEN
	-	The approval of the operator(s) is required	N/A
	-	The pilot-in-command must be informed of the location	N/A
